Its been a while!

Hello, Courtney here!

I was sitting around, asking my mom what ever happened to her "new and improved blog" and she said that I could make an updated post. So, here I am. =]

Im not sure where Mom left off, so I'll start with Christmas. It was hectic, and everyone in the house loved to comment on the ever-growing amount of presents under the tree. My boyfriend Eric came to visit as well, making the holidays (for me at least!) even better. Top presents included, a Wii, tons of Wii games (the boys and I beat the crap out of each other during Wii tennis) My new Canon Powershot S5 1S, tons of Green Bay Packers merchandise for Kirby, and Riley's cool skateboard.

Right after christmas, our family took a ski trip up to Windham Mountain, in the Catskills of new York. The day started rough, with grainy snow, but little did we know that while it started to snow on our drive to the hotel, there would be 8 inches of fresh powder in the morning! We spent New Years Eve-day skiing and snowboarding, and I spent the most of the day in the lodge, as I came down with a high fever and throat infection (losing my voice) the night before. We stayed and counted down to midnight in the lodge's bar/resturant with a great band, and great fireworks.

Dad and the Boys out on the slopes, but not the bunny hill!!

Fireworks, Eric and I staked out a spot in the cold to get these shots

Riley, turning into a miniature Shawn White (olympic snowboarder)...He's already better than Eric and I both!

Mom and Dad, in the Lodge

Eric and I got decked out for the part as well.

Anyway, things have somewhat settled down since the holidays. Mom started her new job as a First Responder Organ Transplant Specialist, for NJ sharing Network...Dad has been travelling more than ever, but he brings us plently of pure vanilla from the Dominican Republic, so that keeps us happy.
Riley has been just about the same..He has started a new gymnastics program, and he loves it. Mom and I spend a good amount of time convincing him he needs to become a male cheerleader, but he thinks its a "questionable" sport.
Nothing has changed much with Kirby. He and Riley are impatiently counting down the days until the release of the new Indiana Jones movie, and in the meantime, they've been creating stop-motion-animation movies on the video camera and thier Indiana Jones Lego sets.
I suppose I have the most going on right now. I'm continuing to work for the YMCA, teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding...I recently got my driver's license (finally!), and Ive been looking into colleges. So far, my college of choice is the New England Culinary Insitute in Montpieller VT. We'll just wait for that acceptance letter to come now...Eric and I are doing well, working our way to our 1 year and 6 month anniversary. Mom and I recently made a trip to Columbus for hair cuts, and to celebrate Eric's 16th birthday.I'm still very active in my photography, now in 2 1/2 (yes, a half) photo classes during the school day. You can seem my current work over on my website http://www.camithepirate.deviantart.com/. (there are a few good ones from a photoshoot in NY during xmas).
But, enough about me.
While things are quiet now, they're about to get busy again. My Aunt and Uncle, Shari and George are flying out from San Francisco for a visit...and a few days after that, My dad's sister "Aunt Carol" is coming to stay with us while Mom and Dad go to Mexico for a few days. And when they get back, Eric is coming out to stay for spring break!
We hope everyone is doing well, and we hope to hear from everyone!

Just a few more of Courtney's photos!

I've recently been going through a few of the photos that Courtney has taken somewhat recently and thought I should share them with everyone! Courtney has taken up photography as a hobby and has a real eye for it!

This is an entry that Courtney used for an amature photo contest...unfortunately she didn't win, we think the contest was fixed!(Although you can't really tell, Dave, Kirby & Riley)

Here is a photo taken at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, it's an actual door from Abbey Road!

A couple of weeks ago, we went into New York City for some Christmas shopping and look who we ran into! Courtney tailed him for several blocks, looking for the perfect photo!

Also taken during our shopping trip, Radio City Music Hall!

The holiday windows at Macy's are amazing, but this was a pretty cool tree of lights!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra, a fabulous concert for the holidays, we had great seats, and of course, Courtney took some very unique photos!

I'm still nagging Courtney to send me more of her photos, as soon as she does, I'll post them right away!

We're Back!

With the craziness of our lifestyle in New Jersey, we just simply haven't had the time to update our old blog, and because of this, I didn't even have the information anymore that I needed to sign into the old blog!

So, here we are! Other than just trying to keep up with our everyday routines, life in our part of the country hasn't been all too exciting! We have, however, just returned from a great vacation in Florida - Disneyworld to be exact! We had a little over a week to soak up great sun & fun while doing our best to relax and enjoy our time away from daily routines. The temperatures were in the mid 70's all week, and the crowds were so much more tolerable than they were the last time we visited in April '06!

Courtney's boyfriend, probably our future son-in-law, came along with us. It was Eric's first visit to Disney, and we were all thrilled that he could join us for the trip.

Although we had a great time, it was good to be home again - all of our pets missed us terribly!

In regular life, well, let's see....Riley is now in middle school (that's hard to believe!), Kirby started high school, and (even more unbelievable!) Courtney is a senior this year.

Courtney has begun a technical program at school specializing in Baking & Pastry Arts. She would like to go to college to pursue a career in this cool field, and is investigating a number of colleges with culinary programs in the area.

Just to get this blog started, I've posted a few photos from a variety of things...mostly Disney! We'll keep you updated on things here in Jersey as they come up, feel free to leave comments if you wish!
